Today’s meeting within the Three Seas Initiative is the first step towards assuming specific commitments on the implementation of joint projects. I expect that the agreement signed in Bucharest on cooperation and the establishment of a chambers of commerce and industry network of the member states of the initiative will contribute to regional connectivity.

Without connectivity and integration we cannot achieve quicker convergence and the enormous differences which still exist between Eastern and Western Europe cannot possibly be eliminated. The ideas for the EU’s development and the danger of Europe’s fragmentation were discussed by President Rumen Radev and the Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Riga. The two talked about the prospects for expanding the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany.
