President Radev: Modernisation of the Armed Forces Requires Not only Acquisition of Equipment, but also Development of Infrastructure

The President and Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev discussed the development of modern defence capabilities of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the context of the challenges facing the changed global security environment at a meeting with NATO Assistant Secretary General Angus Lapsley, who is visiting Bulgaria.

Among the topics of the talks were also the increase of military mobility within the Alliance, the promotion of joint defence research and development and the investment of member states in defence. The process of modernisation of the Armed Forces involves not only the acquisition of modern equipment, but also the improvement and development of critical infrastructure, including through the implementation of projects to increase connectivity between member states, President Radev said at the meeting.
