In the digital age we live in, we need more spirituality. With these words, President Iliana Iotova welcomed the guests at the concert of the Svetoglas Quartet, which took place at the Museum of Christian Art, located in the crypt of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The event was part of the programme of the third International Forum on the Cyrillic Alphabet “Spiritual Heritage in the Digital Age”, organised by the head of state.
Today we touched language, history, culture, spirituality. We got close to ourselves because we can read ourselves through the past, but also see the future, Iotova pointed out in her greeting.
Our generation has been given the great task of bringing our alphabet, which is the foundation of our identity, into the digital age and passing it on to future generations with the same love with which it was passed on to us, the president added.
Iotova continued that she had received many positive reactions of love and nostalgia from our compatriots abroad who followed the first day of the international forum. We must preserve this circulatory system that connects all Bulgarians, as patriotism is not measured by geographical boundaries, the head of state emphasised.
Before the wise gaze of the images of Bulgarian icons, let us offer a prayer for humility, worship, pride and hope for the future. In a precarious world, let us find our support in our roots, history, and self-confidence that we are Bulgarians, urged Iliana Iotova.
