Bulgaria and Romania prove that the engine of European integration and regional cooperation works to ensure a positive change in the two countries and the whole region. This is what Head of State Rosen Plevneliev said, who opened a joint Bulgarian-Romanian business forum together with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

Energy dependence is the major weakness of Southeastern Europe and building a state-of-the-art energy infrastructure and connecting the gas-transit and electricity networks should be a common priority. This was the position shared by Rosen Plevneliev and Klaus Iohannis, who held talks at 2 Dondukov street today. President of Romania Klaus Iohannis is on a two-day official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of the Bulgarian Head of State.

"We must not allow Europe to fall into a moral crisis – a crisis of lack of solidarity, a crisis of values. Whether it is migration or the sanctions on Russia – we need to stand and stick together. We are a family. Family in a crises stands together! And every member of the family has to contribute, to solve and not deepen the problems. Bulgaria is proud to be always part of the European solution and acts in a solider and responsible way", the President stated in an address to the Members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
