The dynamic dialogue between Bulgaria and Greece contributes to ensuring that the two countries have a powerful leader’s voice in the development of the region and attain common goals in their relationships with their EU partners. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said at a meeting held with the leader of the Greek party New Democracy. The Head of State received at 2 Dondukov street the President of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is visiting Bulgaria. The two discussed topical issues on the European agenda and also the challenges our region is facing.

Signing the good-neighborly relations agreement between Bulgaria and Macedonia is an important step on the path towards strengthening the ties between the two peoples and the European integration of the countries in the region. Migration and protecting the EU’s external borders are a common issue for Bulgaria and Malta, the two countries will coordinate their positions on and will work together to overcome the challenges they face within the forthcoming Maltese and Bulgarian presidency of the Council of Europe. This is what emerged at the talks held in Valletta between President Rosen Plevneliev and Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat.

Migration, protecting the EU's external borders and security issues should be among the top priorities on the bloc's agenda in 2017 and 2018 when Malta and Bulgaria will take over the Presidency EU Council. The two countries will coordinate realistic and feasible priorities that would lead to tangible results for the European citizens.
