Taking over the Presidency of the European Council, Bulgaria will continue with even greater energy to be committed to the future of our common European project. We will work in close cooperation with the other EU member states and the European institutions and we will support every effort which will make it possible to improve our union, preserving its remarkable achievements. This is what Rumen Radev told journalists in Rome after the solemn commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome.

We Are grateful to His Holiness Pope Francis for the attention he pays to Bulgaria through the annual audiences of Bulgarian delegations and the commemoration of the holy Brothers Sts. Cyril and Methodius – co-patrons of Europe. Bulgaria will continue to support the scientific programs of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), which lead to return on investments for our country not only through the technological transfer made, but also through the training of a lot of Bulgarian scholars. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Fabiola Gianotti, Director General of CERN. Education and Science Minister Professor Nikolay Denkov and Associate Professor Leander Litov from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” took part in the meeting.

At the invitation of President Rumen Radev a meeting was held today with the ambassadors of the Kingdom of Netherlands Tom van Oorcshot, of the Republic of Austria Roland Hauser, and with the Charge d’affaires of the diplomatic missions of the French Republic Dominique Waag and of the Federal Republic of Germany Peter Kolb at 2 Dondukov street.
