This was the common position taken on by head of state Rumen Radev and His Excellency Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The two leaders held a meeting in New York today within the framework of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. The Bulgarian president thanked King Abdullah II for Jordan's support in the fight against terrorism and the reestablishment of stability in the Middle East.

With its significant oil and gas reserves, Iran has the potential to take part in Bulgaria's energy diversification process. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting held in New York with his Iranian counterpart, Dr. Hassan Rouhani. They shared the opinion that the expansion of the energy infrastructure that connects Europe and Asia creates conditions that precipitate the more active copperation between Bulgaria and Iran. Dr. Rouhani pointed out that in Iran's energy sector, a number of large-scale projects are being implemented with investments from European countries, China, India and Japan and Iran will continue working to attract new investors and gain access to new markets.

The UN member states should present their proposals and reach a consensus on the undertaking of reforms with a view to increasing the efficiency in UN's performance and speed up the decision making process in the event of crises. This is what President Rumen Radev said to the representatives of the Bulgarian media in New York on the occasion of the expected results from the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. "Crises tend to arise and develop very fast, while reaching a consensus sometimes takes too much time," the head of state pointed out.
