“I am happy that the most pleasant meeting of this so important day is to take place and now it is with you, my compatriots.” This is what Vice-president Iliana Iotova said late last night in the Bulgarian Embassy in Tirana at a meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community in the Republic of Albania, where she is on a working visit. Representatives of the local Bulgarian associations, teachers, medical doctors, culture activists, tens of our compatriots from all parts of Albania took part in the meeting.

“I thank all Albanian institutions for including the Bulgarian minority in the Law on the protection of national minorities. This step confirms Albania’s determination to follow the good European practices and make progress in the Euro-integration process. I am convinced that the Albanian citizens of Bulgarian identity will contribute to strengthening the mutual trust and to the development of the friendly relations between our two countries.” This is what Vice-president Iliana Iotova told journalists in Tirana after holding meetings with Albanian President Ilir Meta, with Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruci, and also with Prime Minister Edi Rama. The Vice-president is on a two-day visit to Albania.

Great Britain is Bulgaria’s strategic partner in Europe and ally within NATO. Our country highly appreciates London’s support for implementing key reforms in the sphere of justice and for achieving results in the fight against corruption and organized crime. This is what President Rumen Radev said, who held a meeting with Emma Hopkins, the British ambassador to Bulgaria, at 2 Dondukov street today. At the talks, the Head of State voiced conviction that despite Brexit, Sofia and London will continue their effective cooperation in key spheres of mutual interest: defense, migration, fighting terrorism, reform in justice, economy and investments.

This is what President Rumen Radev said, who held talks with representatives of the American – Central European Business Association (ACEBA) at 2 Dondukov street today. Some of the biggest US companies in the spheres of IT, defense industry, agriculture and food production are taking part in the first ACEBA mission conducted in Bulgaria in the past 14 years.
