The Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the countries participating in the South East European Cooperation Process “SEECP – 20 Years Key to Regional Cooperation” to be held in Sofia on the 1st of June 2016.

This year we mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) which began with the 1996 Sofia Declaration on Good-Neighbourly Relations, Stability, Security and Cooperation in the Balkans. In the past two decades, the SEECP has established itself as a leading political format for security and stability in the region.

President Rosen Plevneliev will host the Summit which will end the third Bulgarian SEECP Chairmanship-in-Office. The Bulgarian Chairmanship-in-Office intends to prepare a Declaration in honor of the 20 year anniversary of the South East European Cooperation Process, acknowledging the SEECP as a key political format for sustainable partnership in South East Europe and a leading platform for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
