President Rosen Plevneliev pays a visit to the Vatican

President Rosen Plevneliev led the Bulgarian delegation to the Vatican during an official visit. The delegation was received for an audience by His Holiness Pope Francis. The president honored the holy places for the Bulgarian people in Rome on the occasion of The National Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture, and the Slavic Alphabet – 24th of May.  During his official visit the President had a meeting with the Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

In Rome the President Rosen Plevneliev also paid homage to the graves of St. Cyril in the Basilica of San Clemente, Pope John Paul II, Pope John XXIII and St. Peter.
