Bulgaria is interested in using the experience of the Republic of Korea to increase the efficiency of state administration and in the field of e-government. This was stated by Head of State Rumen Radev, who held a session today with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Security of the Republic of Korea, Yun Ho-jung. The Minister is visiting Bulgaria to participate in a joint Bulgarian-Korean forum within the framework of the Korean Public Administration Cooperation Program. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Bulgaria, H.E. Dong-bae Kim.

The President pointed out that a debate is underway in our country about the development of the state administration, its size, functions and efficiency, and the Republic of Korea has made significant achievements in the digitalisation of administrative processes and e-government. The development of e-government should lead to increased transparency in the work of the administration and limiting the subjective factor in decision-making, Rumen Radev emphasized.

During the meeting, the economy, investments, high technologies, science, education and culture were highlighted as particularly promising areas of the bilateral partnership between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea. President Radev noted that the Republic of Korea is a priority partner for our country in East Asia, with which relations are developing on the basis of shared values and principles, and in 2025, the two countries will also celebrate 35 years since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Rumen Radev pointed to the great potential of the partnership in the field of high technologies. In this regard, the head of state pointed out that the first Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies (INSAIT) in Southeast Europe was established in Bulgaria, a supercomputer is operating with the support of the EU, and our country has been designated by the EC for the creation of an artificial intelligence factory. The partnership in energy and the participation of a leading Korean company in the project for the construction of new energy capacities at the Kozloduy NPP were also discussed.

During the meeting, President Radev said that our country is monitoring security processes in the East Asian region and confirmed our country's support for the implementation of United Nations resolutions regarding the DPRK's nuclear and missile program.

Radev extended an invitation to the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung to visit Bulgaria to further deepen the bilateral dialogue at the highest level.
