Head of State Holds a Talk with Emir of Qatar

President Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation today with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Bulgarian head of state emphasised the importance of global efforts to counter terrorism, while expressing concern about the escalation of tension in the Middle East following the Israeli air strike on the Qatari capital, Doha. Hundreds of our compatriots live and work in the Qatari capital.
President Radev voiced hope that military action in the Middle East would cease as soon as possible and that the territorial scope of the conflict, which threatens international peace and security, would not be allowed to expand.
The Bulgarian head of state once again expressed his gratitude for the personal commitment of the Emir of Qatar to the release of the captain and first mate of the ship Galaxy Leader.
