2025-02-25 18:00:00

Vietnamese citizens in Bulgaria, as well as those who have studied and worked in this country, can count on support from the Bulgarian side for their efforts to promote bilateral contacts and strengthen the friendship between Bulgaria and Vietnam. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Bulgaria, Do Hoang Long, and representatives of the leadership of the Vietnamese Association in Bulgaria, which was established in 2006 and numbers about 2,000 people.

The meeting was held in the context of the recent official visit of Head of State Rumen Radev to Vietnam last November, and in light of the celebration in 2025 of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian-Vietnamese diplomatic relations.

The President noted the warm welcome he and the delegation he led had received in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the fruitful results of the visit, during which meetings were held at the highest state level and a number of steps were agreed to build on the pragmatic and effective cooperation between Bulgaria and Vietnam, including through the signing of bilateral documents. The common political will as well as the potential of the economies of our two countries are important preconditions for the upward development of relations, Rumen Radev said at the meeting today and expressed appreciation for the role in this regard of the Vietnamese citizens who have studied and worked in our country.

Ambassador Do Hoang Long expressed appreciation for President Rumen Radev's commitment to the further development of the Bulgarian-Vietnamese relations and stressed the readiness of the Vietnamese community to contribute further in this regard. During the talks, the sides discussed opportunities for further development of cooperation in the fields of culture, educational and trade exchange, business, consular services and logistics. Meetings with competent Bulgarian institutions will also be held in this regard.
