Radev: Achieving Peace in the Region Is crucial for Multilateral Economic Cooperation in the Black Sea

Achieving peace in the region is key to connectivity and multilateral economic cooperation in the Black Sea. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting today with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), Asaf Hajiyev, who is visiting Bulgaria. PABSEC is the parliamentary dimension of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation, of which our country is a founding member.
Rumen Radev and Asaf Hajiyev noted the strategic importance of the Black Sea as a bridge between Europe and Asia for the development of transport and energy connectivity. In this regard, the Head of State highlighted our country's place as a reliable factor for diversification of the sources and routes for the transmission of energy resources through the gas interconnector between Greece and Bulgaria. They also discussed the prospects for the implementation of other energy projects in the region, which will contribute to deepening connectivity.
The PABSEC Secretary General highly appreciated Bulgaria's role as an active member of the Assembly and in the implementation of the common priorities.
