Head of State Talks with Greek Counterpart

Head of State Rumen Radev held a telephone talk with the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou in connection with the fires that had engulfed the country and the efforts to control them. The Bulgarian President stressed that Greece could count on this country's support in fighting the fire, along with the firefighting teams, equipment and machinery already sent.

Radev expressed his condolences and sympathy with the people of Greece on the tragic incident in which a firefighting plane crashed while extinguishing a forest fire in the region of Platanistos, on the island of Euboea, and its crew of two were killed.
 
Rumen Radev and Katerina Sakellaropoulou expressed their mutual understanding that Bulgaria and Greece are an example of solidarity as well as cooperation in solving crises in the region.
