President and British Prime Minister Discuss Deepening Cooperation in Tackling Illegal Migration

Strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the fight against illegal migration and related organised crime was discussed at a meeting today between Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The talks took place on the sidelines of the summit of the EPC, which brings together leaders from across Europe in Moldova today. They issued a joint statement after the talks: President Radev and Prime Minister Sunak agreed that the UK and Bulgaria will work to intensify further their already close cooperation to tackle Organised Immigration Crimes as well as the criminal networks and equipment used to facilitate illegal migration. Both leaders confirmed the need for solidarity and cross-national solutions and to work together to protect Europe’s borders.
