The Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, sends cordial greetings to the Bulgarians and expresses hope that the friendship between the German and Bulgarian people will remain a strong bonding element in the future, noting the long-standing cooperation in a spirit of trust between Germany and Bulgaria within the EU and NATO. 
 
HM King Charles III extends his warmest congratulations to the Bulgarian people. I look forward to continuing warm friendship and the strong partnership between our two countries, as we face challenging times, reads the address of the King of the United Kingdom. 
 
Pope Francis also sends greetings of good wishes. Together with the assurance of my prayers that Almighty God will bestow his gifts of unity, solidarity and peace upon the nation, Pope Francis writes in his congratulatory address to the Bulgarian head of State.
 
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres congratulates the Bulgarian people and looks forward to continued joint efforts for a better, healthier, and safer future. From poverty and inequality, to violent conflict and climate change, the challenges faced by our world demand collective action rooted in solidarity, mutual respect and understanding, he writes in his congratulatory letter. 
 
The President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, sends his greetings to the friendly Bulgarian people. I am ready to work with you to strengthen the coordination of the development strategies of the two countries and take bilateral relations to a higher level for the benefit of the well-being of the two peoples, the President of the People's Republic of China notes.
 
I hope that after all your efforts we can welcome Bulgaria and Romania as full Schengen members in the near future, writes the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen. He also points out that he has fond memories of his meeting with the Bulgarian President at the traditional New Year's concert of the Vienna Philharmonic on New Year's Day and expresses satisfaction with the fruitful bilateral relations.
 
On behalf of the Spanish people, the Government and himself, King Felipe VI of Spain wishes personal success, peace, and prosperity to the dear Bulgarian people. 
 
The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, recalls the visit of the Bulgarian head of State to Portugal in April 2022, and confirms his confidence in the promotion of the good relations between the two countries. I am confident that Portugal and Bulgaria will remain firm advocates of the shared values of Peace, Democracy, Multilateralism and respect for Human Rights, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza writes in the context of the complicated security environment in Europe.
 
The Federal President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset, sends his heartfelt greetings for a happy and bright future for this country and the Bulgarian people. The cooperation programme between Switzerland and Bulgaria will provide fertile ground for closer ties between our two countries, the message of greetings says. Berset points to the cooperation between the Institute for Research in Artificial Intelligence (INSAIT) at Sofia University and the Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne as an example of the positive dynamics in bilateral relations.
 
The President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, also sends his heartfelt congratulations to the head of State and the Bulgarian people, expressing his conviction that the bilateral relations are based on friendship, and shared values, and will continue to develop successfully in all areas of common interest.
 
Slovenian President Natasa Musar wishes prosperity to Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people. She notes the fruitful cooperation between the two countries at bilateral level as well as within the EU and NATO. Cooperation between European partners is particularly important now when Europe and the world find themselves in a difficult and challenging situation, the Slovenian head of state notes.
 
May the coming time bring peace, well-being and happiness to the people of the Republic of Bulgaria, Irish President Michael Higgins writes to the Bulgarian head of State.
 
President Klaus Iohannis of Romania wishes peace and prosperity on his own and the Romanian people's behalf in his greetings to the Bulgarian head of State. He highlights the complicated security environment a year after the war in Ukraine, which, in his words, shows more than ever before, how significant it is for the Romanian-Bulgarian cooperation to continue in an ever closer and coordinated manner at regional, European and international level. Our countries' friendship is based on mutual trust, good neighbourly relations aiming to achieve the common goal of ensuring peace, security and welfare for our citizens, Iohannis says, expressing his conviction that his upcoming official visit to Sofia will contribute to the advancement of relations between the two countries.
 
In his greetings address, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, expresses satisfaction with the effective cooperation between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan in a number of fields. The outcome of my visit to Bulgaria last year and the commissioning of the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector, which contributes to Europe's energy security, testify to the high level of our strategic partnership, Aliyev notes. He expresses confidence that the fruitful partnership between the two countries in the energysector will extend to other areas such as trade, transport, logistics, investment, high technology, and tourism.
 
King Philippe of the Belgians extends his wishes for prosperity and well-being to the President and the Bulgarian people. He stresses the importance of the rich ties between Bulgaria and Belgium and the close cooperation between the two countries.
 
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, singles out Bulgaria as a good partner and a sincere friend with which joint projects can be implemented for the benefit of both peoples. The recent start of the construction of the gas interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria confirms the joint readiness to boost cooperation in the energy sector and contributes to connectivity not only between our two countries, but also of the entire region, the Serbian President writes. He expresses gratitude for Bulgaria's support to Serbia's European integration process.
 
I wish you and the friendly Bulgarian people progress and prosperity, the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, writes. He expresses confidence in the continued successful development of bilateral relations as well as the cooperation within the EU and NATO.
 
The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, notes that this year marks the 110th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and Bulgaria and underlines that he highly values the friendly cooperation achieved over the years. The Albanian President expresses appreciation for Bulgaria's support for the country's European integration. This support encourages us more on the path of deep reforms in the country, the Albanian President writes.
 
Our countries and peoples have formed a longstanding friendship that is rooted in shared values, trust and mutual respect, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, writes. She expresses gratitude for Bulgaria's support for Kosovo's European integration, which was confirmed during her recent official visit to this country. I am confident that with Bulgaria's support we will continue to make progress towards our shared goals, the President of Kosovo notes.
 
The President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, wishes health, happiness and prosperity to the Bulgarian people, expressing satisfaction with the ties built over the years between the two countries, hoping that they will continue to develop upwards in the future. 
 
On behalf of the Egyptian people, I wholeheartedly congratulate you and the friendly Bulgarian people, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi writes to his Bulgarian counterpart. He wishes prosperity to this country and expresses confidence that Egypt and Bulgaria can continue their fruitful cooperation in all areas of common interest to forge a better future of the peoples of the two countries.
 
In his address, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy underlines the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. Our peoples have repeatedly demonstrated solidarity and mutual assistance throughout our common European history, the Ukrainian head of State says. He highlights Bulgaria's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity as extremely important in the country's difficult time and expresses confidence that the cooperation between the two countries will contribute to the establishment of democracy, peace, stability and security in a united Europe.
 
Hungarian President Katalin Novak expresses satisfaction with the increased cooperation with Bulgaria over the years, which she says, would contribute to the development of the region as well as to the stability and competitiveness of Europe. Novak recalls the constructive talks with the Bulgarian head of State during her visit to Sofia last February. I am convinced that the dialogue between the two heads of state will greatly contribute to uncovering the hidden potential in our relations, Novak writes.
 
Many Israelis are alive today because their ancestors were saved by the Bulgarian people, who bravely defended their Jewish community during the Holocaust, the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, writes in his greetings to the head of State and the Bulgarians. He notes that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews, which, in his words, created an everlasting bond between the two nations. The Israeli President also stresses the cooperation in diplomacy, culture, commerce, technological innovation and tourism. Bulgaria's natural beauty and wonderous sites attract close to a quarter-million Israel tourists on an annual basis, he says, expressing satisfaction with the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in tourism signed earlier this year. In his congratulatory address, Isaac Herzog also expresses his country's support for Bulgaria's accession to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
 
Lithuania supports Bulgaria's aspiration to join Schengen and the Eurozone, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, writes in his congratulatory address. He underlines the good cooperation between Lithuania and Bulgaria within the framework of the European Union and NATO and in the context of a security environment complicated by the war in Ukraine.
 
The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, expresses confidence that North Macedonia and Bulgaria will strengthen their dialogue and intensify cooperation on bilateral, regional and multilateral level, which is in the interest of the two countries' common future in the European Union.
 
In her congratulatory address, the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Caputova, wishes the Bulgarians success, stability, peace and prosperity. She points out that the war in Ukraine is causing a crisis in Europe and disrupting the entire architecture of international security. Slovakia and Bulgaria are united by the responsibility for Europe's security, but also by the values of freedom, democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, the Slovak president writes.
 
The President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, extends his wishes for good health, prosperity and well-being to the Bulgarian people. In his greetings, he recalls his meeting with the Bulgarian head of State during the 27th UN Climate Change Conference in November 2022 in Egypt. Our cordial meeting has provided an opportunity to reinitiate bilateral political dialogue, besides opening up promising prospects for economic partnership between our two countries, the Algerian president said.
 
In his congratulatory address, the President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden, expresses his satisfaction with the deepening friendship between the United States and Bulgaria as the two countries mark 120 years of diplomatic relations. "Together, we have advanced expanded economic opportunities and energy diversification," the US President writes. He adds that the two countries, as NATO allies, will continue to uphold the principles of freedom and sovereignty.
 
Italian President Sergio Mattarella sends cordial congratulations to his Bulgarian counterpart, stressing that the two countries are linked in many areas of common interest and have sincere friendly relations. Mattarella underlines the fruitful cooperation between Italy and Bulgaria at bilateral level and in multilateral forums.
 
Montenegro values the friendly relations with Bulgaria, our partner and ally, with which we have rich historical and cultural ties, Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic writes. He is convinced that Bulgaria, knowing well the situation in the Western Balkans, will continue to support Montenegro's European path.
 
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkiye also congratulates the head of State and the Bulgarian people on the occasion of Bulgaria's National Day. I am confident that with the contribution of your valuable experience, the long-standing relations between our countries will develop to the benefit of our peoples and the region in every sphere, the Turkish President writes.
 
Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili highlights the courage and dedication of the freedom fighters 145 years ago. Today, Bulgaria plays an especially important role in the process of strengthening peace and security in Europe and the Black Sea region, the Georgian President says, expressing hope that there will be future steps to strengthen friendly relations between Georgia and Bulgaria.

I am happy to share with you the path towards the strengthening and sustainability and sovereignty of the European Union, President Macron of the French Republic writes in his congratulatory address. He also stresses the importance he attaches to the promotion of political, strategic, economic and cultural ties between France and Bulgaria.
