Cessation of the armed confrontation and undertaking efforts for strengthening peace in the Middle East are of key importance not only for the State of Israel and Palestine, but for the whole world, stated President Rumen Radev today during a phone call with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin.

The conversation was held at the initiative of President Rivlin and the escalation of tension in the Middle East region over the last days, where dozens of victims perished, was discussed. President Rivlin emphasized that the State of Israel is aiming to deescalate tension, but insists on stability of the peace process so that the life and health of no citizen be put at risk.

Bulgaria is deeply concerned about the rapid development of the conflict and the lives lost, President Rumen Radev said. The Head of State also noted that no one would benefit from an escalating military conflict. Bulgaria highly values its friendship with the State of Israel, as well as with Palestine, and is ready to support the efforts for deescalating tension, alleviating the situation and avoiding further casualties within its capabilities, President Rumen Radev added.
