President Rumen Radev and Ambassador Christoph Eichhorn Discussed Topics on the European Agenda and Bilateral Partnership
2021-02-04 17:52:00President Rumen Radev and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Christoph Eichhorn discussed topics on the European agenda and of the bilateral partnership today during a meeting at the Presidency. The perspectives of broadening the bilateral economic and investment cooperation and of improving the investment climate in Bulgaria were also highlighted during the meeting.
Germany is a strategic partner of the Three Seas Initiative and our country will rely on German experience and expertise for improving the regional transport, energy and digital connectivity in Eastern Europe, which would promote the economic growth and accelerate the social and economic cohesion with Western Europe, President Radev indicated during the meeting.
The European perspective for states in the Western Balkans was also among the topics discussed.

For projects aimed at improving connectivity between Bulgaria and Turkiye must be viewed as a whole, to be successful, and within the context of closer cooperation in Southeastern Europe. This will bolster both economic development and security in the region, whose strategic importance is growing. This was stated by President Iliana Iotova at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is on a formal visit to Bulgaria.
