Head of State Rumen Radev Met the Governor of BNB Dimitar Radev

President Rumen Radev met at 2 Dondukov street today the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Dimitar Radev.

The meeting focused on the intentions declared by Bulgaria to join the Exchange Rate Mechanism II (ERM II), which is the first mandatory step towards joining the Eurozone.

The Head of State called for a strict fulfillment of the guarantees assumed by Parliament for financial stability, full and regular awareness of the population and transparency in the work of the institutions committed to the process of Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone.

 Dimitar Radev emphasized that the Bulgarian National Bank will continue to actively participate in this process within its legal mandate to maintain price stability through the regime of a fixed exchange rate at the current lev-euro exchange rate.
