Rumen Radev met in New York leading US companies with an interest to invest in our country

Bulgaria should be much more active in popularizing in the USA the opportunities for doing business in our country. This is what President Rumen Radev told journalists after a working meeting in New York, organized by the Business Council for International Understanding. It was attended by representatives of US companies occupying leading positions in world business in the spheres of communication, information technologies, insurance, finances, energy, defense industry.

The aim of the meeting was to achieve better results in the investment cooperation between Bulgaria and the USA and to stir the interest of the companies from high added value sectors in investing in Bulgaria. The business representatives voiced their readiness to visit Bulgaria to explore the conditions our country offers. The President highlighted the qualified specialists and the competitive tax framework as part of Bulgaria’s advantages.

The President told the journalists that the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and the USA is deepening and this is particularly clearly reflected in the sphere of security and defense. “We have the ambition to make this cooperation full in all other activities, particularly in investments and the transfer of high technologies,” Rumen Radev said. The President noted that, to this end, a top political level dialogue should be held and the business should feel support.

Rumen Radev reiterated his call on the Bulgarian state and business to be ready to launch projects. “This means that we should not only explain how good the business environment in Bulgaria is, but also present ready projects with clear parameters, with precisely specified proposals, so that we can negotiate on site,” Rumen Radev said.

Taking a question concerning the results of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly for Bulgaria, the President noted that the social and economic development of Bulgaria should be supported by our country’s good place in the world in political and social terms. “When the top political level dialogue is constructive and open, this brings about trust and the latter is important for doing business, for making investments, for cooperation in the sphere of education, science and technologies,” Rumen Radev further said.
