Bulgaria and Georgia will Work to Increase Connectivity, Trade and Tourism in the Black Sea Region
2019-09-01 17:39:00Bulgaria and Georgia share a common ambition to increase the connectivity in the Black Sea region, which would promote trade, mutual investments and tourism. This was the common stance shared by the Presidents of Bulgaria and Georgia Rumen Radev and Salome Zourabichvili, who held a meeting today in Warsaw. The two attended the commemorative ceremony in the capital of Poland held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II.
The annual trade between Bulgaria and Georgia reaches 600 million US dollars and with the development of the transport, energy and digital corridors it has the potential to reach one billion US dollars in the next years, it was emphasized at the meeting. The two Heads of State voiced their common ambition to open a direct flight route and strengthen the bilateral partnership in the sphere of science, culture and education.
President Radev emphasized that our country supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and will continue to assist the efforts within the multilateral negotiations to strengthen the stability in the Caucasus region. The Bulgarian Head of State also voiced his support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and highly appreciates the country’s active participation in the Eastern Partnership with the EU.
