President Rumen Radev Discussed the Prospects for Increasing Regional Connectivity with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan

2019-06-07 11:50:00

President Rumen Radev and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan discussed the prospects for increasing regional connectivity in the Black Sea region as a condition for promoting the trade, investments, tourism and education at a meeting in St. Petersburg. The talks were held ahead of the opening of the top-level panel of the international economic forum in St. Petersburg.

Nikol Pashinyan invited Bulgaria to participate in the construction of a highway which connects Armenia and Iran and is part of the transport corridor between the Black Sea and the Persian Gulf. China has already shown interest in the project and its funding may be part of the common efforts to develop the communication ties between Europe and Asia.

President Radev again reiterated the necessity to open a direct air flight between Bulgaria and Armenia and Minister Pashinyan called for promoting the contacts between the tourist agencies in the two countries. Nikol Pashinyan made a request for Bulgaria to support relieving the visa regime between Armenia and the EU.
