The Head of State Thanked for the Help Bulgaria Receives from WTO to Meet the Standards of Contemporary Trade
2018-02-27 18:55:00Bulgaria has set itself the goal to create the necessary environment and to build capacity so that it can attract strategic foreign projects and investors. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting he held with Roberto Azevedo, Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) at 2 Dondukov street today. The Head of State thanked for the help Bulgaria receives from the WTO to meet the standards of contemporary trade.
Rumen Radev and Roberto Azevedo shared the opinion that the regional initiatives and the support for regional integration contribute to the efficiency of global trade. Rumen Radev voiced our country’s ambition to increase its presence on new markets outside the European Union, where the potential for trade is considerable, yet it has not been fully realized.
“Bulgaria has experience and traditions in the trade with different partners in the world, it meets the standards for openness and plays an important role in making the trade with the Western Balkan region more active,” Roberto Azevedo said and added that our country has a key location in Southeastern Europe against the backdrop of the dynamically developing digital economy of services.
The President identified the measures taken in education, which prepare the labor market for the prompt changes that occur as a result of digitalization and high technologies, as key factors ensuring that Bulgaria achieves better results in trade.
