The Head of State: the Bulgarian Community in France Has a Great Contribution to Building Up the Trust in Bilateral Relations
2017-12-05 07:53:00Bulgaria and France are strategic partners and the Bulgarian community in France has a great contribution to building up the trust in the bilateral relations, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with hundreds of our compatriots in Paris. The Head of State emphasized that it is trust that is a condition for attracting more investments in Bulgaria and for integrating our country in Europe.
“Our immigration in Paris contributed prominent names in the sphere of science and education, art and culture, in the form of artists, singers, dancers, writers and continues to contribute engineers and managers,” the President said and called on our compatriots to never forget that the success enjoyed in this highly competitive environment is also success for Bulgaria and is achieved with a lot of talent, persistence and selflessness.
The Head of State hailed the Bulgarian community in their efforts to have the Bulgarian language recognized as a matriculation language in France’s educational system. “I would like to thank my wife, who was committed to this cause and, back during the summer, when Mrs. Brigitte Macron was visiting Bulgaria together with her husband, she put forward this issue. France’s President assured me that this issue will be referred to the French institutions and a solution will be shortly sought,” the President further said.
Rumen Radev thanked the Bulgarian community also for the establishment of a lot of cultural, informational, charity associations and of four Bulgarian schools functioning in Paris, where over 500 children study. “One of the most important things you do is to make sure that our Bulgarian children do not forget to read and write in the Bulgarian language. Every Bulgarian child, no matter where it is, should have access to a Bulgarian school, and the Bulgarian state should more actively work to this end,” President Rumen Radev further emphasized in the statement he made before our compatriots in Paris.
