The President: Bulgaria Will Encourage the Investors that Bring Added Value to Economic Growth and the Development of Society

Bulgaria is ready to encourage investors in projects that bring added value to the Bulgarian economy and the development of society. This is what President Rumen Radev said, who held talks with representatives of the American – Central European Business Association (ACEBA) at 2 Dondukov street today. Some of the biggest US companies in the spheres of IT, defense industry, agriculture and food production are taking part in the first ACEBA mission conducted in Bulgaria in the past 14 years.
At the meeting the President pointed out our country’s advantages as part of the common EU market, its key location in Southeastern Europe, the construction of energy and transport corridors connecting us with the neighboring regions, attractive taxation and qualified labor. The Head of State also highlighted Bulgaria’s strategic partnership with the US in the sphere of security and defense, in fighting terrorism and justice and called for boosting the economic and investments exchange between the two countries.
“Lifting visa restrictions for the Bulgarian citizens travelling to the US is a factor which will undoubtedly facilitate the communication between the businesses and will contribute to the development of trade,” Rumen Radev emphasized. The Head of State added that our country has been building a lot of economic zones and in the past years has been established as a hub for the development of IT in our region, which is a good prerequisite for attracting a greater number of educated young people.
The business representatives said that a lot of US companies have invested in Bulgaria and their success has set an example for more US companies to choose our country as the place to build more production capacities, to facilitate technological exchange and trade. Different ideas for modernizing Bulgaria’s Armed Forces, for cooperation in pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and other spheres were also presented.
