President Rumen Radev and His Excellency King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein of Jordan: It is impossible to guarantee Europe's stability while the crisis in the Middle East continues

2017-09-19 21:23:00
It is impossible to guarantee security and stability in Europe while the crisis in the Middle East continues. This was the common position taken on by head of state Rumen Radev and His Excellency Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.  The two leaders held a meeting in New York today within the framework of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. The Bulgarian president thanked King Abdullah II for Jordan's support in the fight against terrorism and the reestablishment of stability in the Middle East.

President Radev underscored Jordan's role in tackling the refugee flows prompted by the military operations in the region that create challenges to the country's social and economic stability. Jordan has held an active dialogue and cooperation with the European Union and King Abdullah II expressed his strong belief to President Rumen Radev that this partnership will be deepened when Bulgaria takes over the rotational presidency of the Council of European Union.

The two heads of state were unanimous that Bulgaria's and Jordan's security services will actively cooperate and exchange information in order to counter illegal trafficking, organized crime and terrorism.

Mutual interest was expressed during the meeting in deepening the political dialogue and encouraging trade between Bulgaria and Jordan. King Abdullah II accepted the Bulgarian head of state's invitation to visit our country in 2018.
