The President: To Find Successful Solutions, We First of all Have to pinpoint the Problems

The dynamic dialogue between Bulgaria and Greece contributes to ensuring that the two countries have a powerful leader’s voice in the development of the region and attain common goals in their relationships with their EU partners. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said at a meeting held with the leader of the Greek party New Democracy.

The Head of State received at 2 Dondukov street the President of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is visiting Bulgaria. The two discussed topical issues on the European agenda and also the challenges our region is facing.

The President highly appreciated the ties between Bulgaria and Greece in the sphere of tourism and voiced conviction that the sphere will continue to develop at a fast rate. Rosen Plevneliev and Kyriakos Mitsotakis agreed that the priority spheres of developing the bilateral relations are energy, education and innovations.

The Head of State told the representatives of New Democracy that observing the constitutional order and the rule of law is the only way to bottom out of the crises and restore the citizens’ trust in the legitimate institutions. The President further recalled that transparency, accountability and the institutions being close to the citizens are crucial to overcoming the challenges and encouraged Athens to continue sticking to the common-European solutions of the problems. “The only way to solve our problems is to clearly identify and pinpoint them,” the Head of State said.

President Rosen Plevneliev and  Kyriakos Mitsotakis set as indispensable priorities the reform of the administration and the introduction of e-government, for the accomplishment of which the two countries should continue pooling efforts.
