The Head of State and his wife Desislava Radeva took part in the enthronement ceremony and in the reception given by the new Japanese Emperor Naruhito. More than 2,000 guests from 200 countries attended the ceremony at the imperial palace. Bulgaria was represented by the President.

Increasing the economic, trade and investment exchange between Bulgaria and Vietnam is a common priority and the institutions in the two countries are ready to support the business initiatives. This was the common stance shared by President Rumen Radev and Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who held a meeting today in Tokyo. The many-year-long successful partnership between Bulgaria and the Meiji Corporation strengthens trust and is an example the Japanese investors who want to implement their projects in Bulgaria will follow. This is what Head of State Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Kazuo Kawamura, President of Meiji Holding, Katsunari Matsuda, President of Meiji Ltd and with the leadership of the Japanese corporation. The meeting in Tokyo is the first within the Bulgarian President’s visit to Japan on the occasion of the enthronement of the new Emperor of Japan, Naruhito.

At the meeting they held at 2 Dondukov street, Head of State Rumen Radev and Christophe Deloire, Secretary General of “Reporters Without Borders” discussed the state of the media environment in Bulgaria, the public trust in the media, the professional standards in journalism, the models of funding the Bulgarian media and the approaches to defending the independence of the editorial policy.
