SVILENA IVANOVA
Svilena Ivanova holds a Master's degree in History from the University of Shumen "Ep. Konstantin Preslavski", a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Veliko Tarnovo "St. Cyril and St. Methodius" and a Master's degree in Legal Forecasting and Impact Assessment from the Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" in 2019.
She has many years of experience in state and municipal administration. Over the years, she has held the position of Head of the Military Club - Shumen at the Ministry of Defence and Director of the Inspectorate Directorate in the Municipality of Shumen.
The topic of human rights and combating discrimination is constantly present in her work. For the last 10 years, she has worked at the Commission for Protection against Discrimination (CPD). She has held positions as a state expert, head of the Specialized Proceedings Department and served as Secretary General of the CPD.
She holds a number of additional qualifications and certificates in human rights and protection from discrimination, including prevention of vulnerable groups - children, people with disabilities, people living in poverty. Svilena Ivanova is a certified trainer in human rights and equal opportunities.
She has worked on a number of topics such as gender equality, the exercise of labour rights and non-discrimination. She has participated in the preparation of thematic literature related to the protection of human rights to serve all stakeholders.
By Decree No. 169 of May 28, 2026, she was appointed Secretary of the President for Social and Regional Policy.
