KRISTIELA SIMEONOVA

Kristela Simeonova was born on June 29, 1986, in Dobrich. She completed her secondary education at Geo Milev Language High School.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Bulgarian Philology from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She briefly worked as a teacher in secondary and high schools.

In 2016, she obtained a master's degree in International Journalism from Sofia University.

She graduated from a public diplomacy program organized by the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria.

From 2012 to 2017, she worked as a journalist for the Duma newspaper, covering Bulgarian and European Union foreign policy.

Since 2017, she has been working in the office of Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova as a senior expert responsible for media relations.

She has also been working on the implementation of a number of initiatives of the Vice President.

From 2022 to 2023, she was chief of staff to Vice President Iotova.

By Decree No. 22 of January 26, 2026, she was appointed media relations secretary to President Iliana Iotova after Iotova took office as head of state on January 23, 2026.

She is fluent in English and speaks German.
