Bulgaria is open for a much more active economic and investment partnership with Japan, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today. The meeting was held within the Bulgarian Head of State’s visit to Tokyo to take part in the enthronement of Emperor Naruhito.

This is what President Rumen Radev said at the ceremony held in the Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo, at which Japanese statesmen were awarded high Bulgarian state honors for their contribution to strengthening the bilateral relations and partnership between Bulgaria and Japan.

The Head of State and his wife Desislava Radeva took part in the enthronement ceremony and in the reception given by the new Japanese Emperor Naruhito. More than 2,000 guests from 200 countries attended the ceremony at the imperial palace. Bulgaria was represented by the President.
