President Rosen Plevneliev tells Supreme Judicial Council: Society expects concrete results

2012-10-03 17:00:00

“My wish is that the decisions that you make are not for Brussels or because of party allegiances but for the sake of justice in Bulgaria,” President Rosen Plevneliev said at the inauguration ceremony of the new members of the Supreme Judicial Council.

In his speech, the President emphasised that the new Supreme Judicial Council is faced not only with the need to complete long-delayed judicial reform, but also to achieve concrete results for the benefit of society, the reputation of the institution and the state. "The recipe for success is in the results. Democracy in Bulgaria is a function of your work and how you make decisions and your values form the value system of the nation,” President Plevneliev said.

The President called on the new SJC to be guided in their actions by the principles of democracy and justice and to contribute to building working state institutions. He said that it precisely the staff of institutions who constitute a guarantee for successful development. "I wish you a strong start. The cause is a modern, decent and prosperous Bulgaria,” President Plevneliev said.
