President Rumen Radev Held a Meeting with Judges from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia

2021-06-08 16:08:00

President Rumen Radev held a meeting today at the Presidency with judges from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of North Macedonia. The Chairs of the Constitutional Courts of Bulgaria and of the Republic of North Macedonia, Boris Veltchev and Dobrila Katsarska respectively, participated in the meeting.

Legal cooperation between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in the context of the European integration of our neighbour to the South-East was the focal point of the discussion. The Head of State expressed our country’s readiness to share with the Republic of North Macedonia its experience in the field of Constitutional Law and the implemented legislative amendments upon our accession to the EU. The work of a given state on transposing and enforcing European legislation does not end with its accession to the European Union, but is rather a permanent process, Mr. Rumen Radev noted.

The President also called for broadening the dialogue between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in different fields and for achieving sustainable and irreversible results in building good neighbourly relations between the two states.

This is what Head of State Rumen Radev told the media in Burgas when asked to comment on the once again exacerbated rhetoric in Skopje regarding Bulgaria.
