The Head of State: It Depends on All of Us to Throw Out the Mafia from the Executive Branch of Power and the Prosecutor’s Office

2020-07-09 19:07:00

This is a fight for our dignity, our children, the future, our nature and for a fair Bulgaria, President Radev said, who together with Vice-president Iliana Iotova joined the Bulgarians who gathered at 2 Dondukov street

It depends on all of us to throw out the mafia from the Executive branch of power. To throw out the mafia from the Prosecutor’s Office, which the mafia brazenly uses as its shield and for carrying out political repressions. The Bulgarian mafia is unceremonious because we tolerated it for too long, because we were the audience of our own lives for too long, because we tolerated the lies coming from the TV screen for too long. This is what President Rumen Radev told the Bulgarians that gathered at 2 Dondukov street in the afternoon today after searches were conducted in the Presidential institution. The Head of State was accompanied by Vice-president Iliana Iotova.

The full text of the President’s statement follows:

I thank all of you that are here today. I see people from all political horizons and this is not accidental.

I see both young and old people, and this is not accidental! The Bulgarian mafia achieved the impossible – it united the decent people against itself.

It depends on us, on all of us to throw out the mafia from the Executive branch of power.

However, rage is pouring out on the square today – the rage provoked by the lies, by the robbery, by the arbitrary acts, by the racketeering, rage provoked by everything that banished 2 million Bulgarians abroad, which concerns each one of us today. This is a fight for our dignity, our children, the future, our nature. A fight for a fair, modern and European Bulgaria. All of us who care for Bulgaria will be together in this fight.

I would like to recall the words of Judge Giovanni Falcone, which were my credo throughout the long, hard years of my previous profession: “Cowards die many times a day, the brave only once.”

Let’s say No to fear, we will take back Bulgaria! Thugs – out!
