Rumen Radev: the Trust between Bulgaria and Lebanon is an Excellent Basis for Reinforcing the Bilateral Economic Ties and Increasing Mutual Investments

2019-04-09 17:50:00

The business representatives who invest in the development of the economic ties between Bulgaria and Lebanon have all prerequisites to be successful because they not only enjoy the support of state institutions in the two countries, but can also rely on the trust that lies at the basis of our relations. This is what President Rumen Radev said in his address to the participants in the Lebanese-Bulgarian business forum, which is held within the Bulgarian Head of State’s official visit to the Lebanese Republic.

The delegation led by the Bulgarian Head of State in Lebanon includes representatives of 30 Bulgarian companies in the sphere of information technologies, innovations, defense industry, energy and food production, who together with their Lebanese partners discussed projects of mutual interest.

Before the business representatives Rumen Radev recalled the traditions in the bilateral trade relations, established in the recent past, which were preserved even during the period of the political and military crisis in Lebanon. Today Lebanon is a factor of stability in the region and Bulgaria is willing to expand its economic and investment presence in the country, as a door to the Middle East. “Our task is not only to boost bilateral trade, but also to expand the spheres in which the economic exchange takes place,” the President emphasized and called for reinforcing the bilateral relations by establishing joint ventures and exporting for third markets.

The reformation of the education system in Bulgaria, the introduction of dual vocational training, the rapid development of the IT, energy and food production sectors were identified by Rumen Radev as promising spheres the businesses from the two countries should direct their attention to.
