Rumen Radev: Trust and Mutual Respect are Investments in Expanding the Trade between Bulgaria and Jordan

Trust and mutual respect not only on the political level, but also between the business representatives from Bulgaria and Jordan, are investments in a follow-up expansion of bilateral trade. This is what President Rumen Radev said today at a business forum in Amman, which was attended by tens of representatives of Bulgarian and Jordanian companies in the sphere of defense industry, electronics, food industry and others.

Within the forum a Bulgarian company reached an agreement to export 500 tons of tobacco to Jordan, memorandums on cooperation were signed by the Haskovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Jordan- Europe Business Association.  An agreement was also reached to sign a Memorandum on cooperation between Sofia Tech Park and the SESAME research center in Jordan.

The Head of State told the participants in the forum that Bulgaria can provide an excellent opportunity for the access of Jordanian companies to the European market of 500 million people, and our country considers Jordan a promising partner in expanding the Bulgarian export to the Middle East region. In Rumen Radev’s words, not only Bulgaria, but also the other EU member states highly appreciate the fact that the Kingdom of Jordan has strengthened its position as a regional factor of stability.

The President highlighted defense industry, energy, IT, electronics and food industry as potential spheres of promoting mutual investments and creating joint ventures.

Earlier Head of State Rumen Radev held a meeting with the Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce Senator Issa Murad, with the Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Industry Fathi Al-Ghagber, the President of the Jordan- Europe Business Association Jamal Fariz, at which the prospects for expanding trade and investments were discussed.
