The President at a meeting with the Bulgarian Community in Amman: The Opening of an Embassy of the Kingdom of Jordan in Bulgaria Will Strengthen the Ties between the Two Friendly Countries

In today’s dynamic and global world connectivity is measured by the contacts between the people and our compatriots living in Jordan and the Jordanians who have graduated Bulgarian universities are the live connection between our two countries. This is what Head of State Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the Bulgarian community in Jordan held in Amman. The President emphasized that the opening of  an embassy of the Kingdom of Jordan in Bulgaria will further strengthen the ties between the two friendly countries and will promote the dialogue between the people and the businesses.

We are working to strengthen the top-level dialogue between Bulgaria and Jordan because the development of all other spheres of mutual interest depends on that, the President said. He voiced hope that the current visit will produce pragmatic results with regard to the economic forum organized within the visit to Amman, attended by representatives of 30 Bulgarian companies and institutions, which strengthen the ties between the businesses.

“Both Bulgaria and the EU recognize the great efforts of the Hashemite Kingdom to ensure security, peace and stability in the region. You are carrying a great moral burden on your shoulders,” the President said and added that our country supports Jordan’s peace and constructive initiatives to stabilize the region. In the Bulgarian Head of State’s words, thanks to its balanced policy, the country has become an island of stability in the Middle East.

The President said that the concentration of a great number of refugees in Jordan is a burden to the education and social system and the state’s finances. “Bulgaria is your true friend and our country does its best to help, and as member of the EU and UN supports the Kingdom’s peace initiatives,” Rumen Radev said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Club of Jordanians who have graduated in Bulgaria, representatives of the Bulgarian community in the Jordanian university and Bulgarians who live and work in Jordan. They requested that a Sunday school is established in Amman for the children of the Bulgarian community and that the acquisition of Bulgarian citizenship for the children from mixed marriages and also for the people who have worked in Bulgaria is facilitated. The President invited more Jordanian youths to study in the Bulgarian higher education institutions.
