Rumen Radev: The Three Seas Initiative Should Reach Consensus on the Criteria Which Define the Importance of the Joint Projects and Ensure their Funding

2018-09-18 13:30:00

Today’s meeting within the Three Seas Initiative is the first step towards assuming specific commitments on the implementation of joint projects. I expect that the agreement signed in Bucharest on cooperation and the establishment of a chambers of commerce and industry network of the member states of the initiative will contribute to regional connectivity. This is what President Rumen Radev told journalists in Bucharest today after taking part in the Three Seas Initiative summit.

The Three Seas Initiative should reach consensus on the criteria which define the importance of the joint projects and ensure their funding, Head of State Rumen Radev said at the forum. In the President’s words, the participation of top-level representatives guarantees that practical approaches will be sought to promote business, the economic development and connectivity in the region.

The presidents and top-level representatives of 12 countries took part in the meeting, also the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, the US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and senior representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank.
