The Presidents of Bulgaria and Argentina Outlined the Priority areas in which the Bilateral Cooperation Should be Intensified

2016-02-05 08:31:00

Bulgaria is looking for a wider horizon to perform its diplomatic actions and implement its economic projects. This is revealed by the fact that the Bulgarian Head of State has been the first European leader to make an official visit to Buenos Aires since Argentina’s newly elected president took office. This is what President Plevneliev said yesterday after he had a meeting with Argentinean President   Mauricio Macri.

Delegations from the Bulgarian business circles will visit Argentina to establish contacts in areas which the two presidents outlined as priority ones – agriculture and food processing, the sectors of mining and energy, and of information and communication technologies and outsourcing. The two countries will work toward intensifying the cooperation between the diplomatic missions of Bulgaria and Argentina. In this respect in the coming months a representative of Argentina’s foreign ministry is to make a visit to Bulgaria, the Head of State said after the talks with Mauricio Macri.

Presidents Rosen Plevneliev and Mauricio Macri hailed the signing of the agreement for cooperation between the trade chambers of Bulgaria and Argentina as a real step towards the further development and improvement of the commercial and economic relations between the two countries, which would facilitate the contacts between the business circles. “Argentina sees Bulgaria as a hub in Southeast Europe and seeks ways to increase exports in the region. Such aspirations enhance the Argentinean side’s interest in Bulgaria. The Argentinean entrepreneurs are well aware that it is a profitable undertaking to do business in Bulgaria, and know the strategic location of our country, which acts as a gate for the biggest market – the European one,” President Rosen Plevneliev said. The Head of State has reassured his Argentinean counterpart that Bulgaria is a predictable partner, which offers favourable conditions to do business and make investments.

President Rosen Plevneliev has invited Mauricio Macri to visit Bulgaria next year as head of a business delegation, the head of state further said. “Bulgaria is seen as a partner not only with regard to the bilateral relations. Bulgaria’s position within the EU is highly appreciated,” President Rosen Plevneliev added after the talks.

In Buenos Aires President Rosen Plevneliev laid a wreath in front of the Memorial of Vasil Levski in the Argentinean capital and visited the famous La Boca neighbourhood, where the stadium of FC Boca Juniors is situated.

The Republic of North Macedonia should not forget that it is a candidate country for EU membership and cannot set conditions for member states. Nor can it revise international treaties, because this 'brands' the country as a state that does not respect international law. This is what Head of State Rumen Radev told the media in Burgas when asked to comment on the once again exacerbated rhetoric in Skopje regarding Bulgaria.
