President Iliana Iotova met with Bulgarian-speaking ambassadors. The meeting was hosted by Austrian Ambassador Andrea Ikic-Bohm and Slovenian Ambassador Natasha Bergel. 
The head of state and the diplomats discussed the political situation in Bulgaria and the formation of a regular government, as well as Bulgarian citizens’ expectations for a stable, secure, and developed country.
 
The interlocutors discussed the need for timely and effective European policies to successfully resolve the crises unfolding one after another, as well as the European integration of the Western Balkan countries. They also discussed Europe’s absent role on the world stage and in negotiations to resolve the military conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, as well as the need to strengthen the role of diplomacy.

For projects aimed at improving connectivity between Bulgaria and Turkiye must be viewed as a whole, to be successful, and within the context of closer cooperation in Southeastern Europe. This will bolster both economic development and security in the region, whose strategic importance is growing. This was stated by President Iliana Iotova at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who is on a formal visit to Bulgaria.
