The Vice-president: Bulgaria and Poland are Partners in the Security Issues

2015-05-28 17:33:00

Bulgaria and Poland are partners in overcoming the problems related to the security environment in Europe. This is what Vice-president Margarita Popova said at a meeting with a Polish parliamentary delegation, led by Deputy Chair of the Sejm Jerzy Wenderlich. Margarita Popova and Jerzy Wenderlich exchanged opinions on issues related to the bilateral relations, on the domestic political situation in the two friendly countries and on topics on the international agenda.

The Vice-president and the deputy chair of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland shared the opinion that joint efforts should be pooled to resolve the security issues. In Margarita Popova’s words, the legacy left by the last big war is still “a burden to Europe.” “To ensure order and security, law must be obeyed,” Vice-president Popova said, who highlighted the problems our county is facing related to the increased migration pressure.

Vice-marshal Jerzy Wenderlich, for his part, said that one of the considerable challenges is the rising European populist movements. In his words, the 2009 crisis consequences have not been yet fully overcome and coping with European populism is beneficial for the Europeans.

Margarita Popova and Jerzy Wenderlich further emphasized that the electoral situation in many European countries opens up new opportunities for the problems of the European citizens to be resolved by the politicians in a dialogue with them.

Bulgaria and Poland will continue their active partnership on all issues of bilateral and European interest, it further emerged at the meeting.
