Within the “month of the Political consultations” the head of state will lay the emphasis on the priority spheres, policies and reforms that serve the national interest

For a second year in a row President Rosen Plevneliev launched “a month of political consultations” with the parliamentary represented parties. Meetings with the Blue coalition, Political Party Attack, the Rights and Freedoms Movement, Coalition for Bulgaria and Political Party GERB will be held in February.  The initiative was launched today with a meeting held between the head of state and the co-chairs of the Blue Coalition. Within the initiative the head of state will lay the emphasis on 15 priority spheres, policies and reforms that serve the national interest, which he considers important both in the context of the beginning 2013 and the country’s long-term development.

1. Measures for growth and employment
2. Measures for increasing the incomes
3. National program for development “Bulgaria 2020” 
4. European agenda
5. Implementation of EU funds
6. Reforms – in the judiciary, the healthcare sector, the water sector, in the state administration, as well in the Bulgarian Army’s “Security” sector
7. Electronic Bulgaria
8. Education, Science, innovations
9. Energy efficiency, diversification, liberalization
10.  Demography policy
11.  Balanced regional development
12.  Infrastructure for modern Bulgaria
13. Elections, Election process, Election Code
14.  Foreign Policy – Bulgaria in the region and in the world
15. Cultural and spiritual development

The head of state expects that at the consultations the political parties will propose other topics they consider priority issues.
