Head of State Iliana Iotova and her Armenian counterpart, Vahagn Khachaturyan, discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Armenia during a meeting in Yerevan. Iotova is in the Armenian capital to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit, which officially opens tomorrow.

The President highlighted the importance of the European Political Community for connectivity in Europe and the development of relations on the continent. Over the years, the European Union’s Eastern Partnership initiative has faded, but the format of the European Political Community gives it new energy, Iliana Iotova noted. President Khachaturyan pointed out that Bulgaria is a good example of European integration and can be helpful to Armenia with its experience.

The meeting highlighted the traditionally friendly relations and historical ties between the two countries and the Bulgarian and Armenian peoples. Expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, the economy, culture, and tourism, as well as in high technology and artificial intelligence, was discussed.
