Radev Meets with Westinghouse Electric Company CEO Patrick Fragman

Head of State Rumen Radev and the CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company Patrick Fragman, who is visiting Bulgaria on the occasion of the signing of a contract with Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant for safety analyses for the licensing of a new design of nuclear fuel assemblies compatible with the design of the fuel currently used in Unit 6 of the plant, discussed the prospects for Bulgaria in the field of nuclear energy.

During the talks, the Head of State stressed the key importance of ensuring the safe operation of the nuclear power plant, as well as providing Bulgarian companies, engineers and technical workers with the opportunity to participate in the activities related to the construction and operation of the new units. The President also raised the issue of the cost and timing of the construction of the new nuclear facilities.
