Radev Discusses Mounting Tensions in the Middle East with King Abdullah II of Jordan

2023-12-01 14:40:00

President Rumen Radev today held a meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Dubai after the opening of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The two discussed the consequences of the hostilities between Hamas and the State of Israel.

They were unanimous that mounting tensions affect not only the belligerents, but also the entire Middle East and Europe. There was also general concern about the grave humanitarian crisis in the region, which calls for timely actions by the global community. President Rumen Radev and King Abdullah II highlighted the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations on the establishment of two states, in accordance with UN resolutions, as the most effective measure to achieve a sustainable peaceful solution in the Middle East.

King Abdullah II accepted the invitation of the Bulgarian Head of State to visit this country next year to foster bilateral cooperation, as well as to continue talks on seeking approaches to restoring peace and ensuring stability in the Middle East.
