At the meeting, members of the European audit institution briefed the head of state on the key points of the 12 opinions on the proposed EU budget as a whole, as well as on the sectoral policies contained therein.

The opportunities for Bulgaria to supply more energy resources to Hungary were also highlighted, following Bulgaria's access to the liquefied gas terminals of Greece and Turkey, the commissioning of the interconnector with Greece and the anticipated completion of the Bulgaria-Serbia gas interconnector by the end of the year.
