President: Bulgaria is Working for Long-term and Sustainable Energy Solutions to Ensure Independence and Security

The head of State receives managers of the French nuclear company Framatome

Bulgaria is working for long-term and sustainable solutions in the energy sector to ensure the country's independence and security and resilience in case of new energy crises, President Radev said at a meeting with the management of the French company Framatome. The meeting was also attended by the caretaker Minister of Energy Rossen Hristov. Achieving energy diversification is a key priority for the country, the President said and highlighted Bulgaria's ambitions to expand cooperation with proven companies in the nuclear energy sector.

The head of State also stressed that the partnerships in this area will be built on transparent relations, on the principles of safety and reliability. They should be based on competition and fully comply with the European rules and the requirements of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency.

Framatome's CEO Bernard Fontana expressed the French company's readiness to expand its partnership with Bulgaria in the field of nuclear energy for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.
