2016-06-01 19:40:00

Bulgaria will continue to support Kosovo’s development and its European road. This is what Head of State Rosen Plevneliev said at a meeting with Hashim Thaci, President of the Republic of Kosovo, who is visiting Bulgaria to take part in the jubilee SEECP summit.

Presidents Plevneliev and Thaci will work so as to promote the trade between Sofia and Pristina and will encourage the entrepreneurs from the two countries to strengthen the business contacts, it emerged at the meeting. The two presidents highlighted the energy sector, mining, tourism and agriculture as potential spheres of economic cooperation. “The young nations grow very quickly. Bulgaria has strong positions in different economic sectors and we will find a way to direct the attention of the business to the opportunities which Kosovo offers,” President Plevneliev said.

Hashim Thaci noted his country’s progress in building good-neighborly relations and voiced readiness for building a constructive dialogue with the neighboring countries. President Plevneliev called on Kosovo to take advantage of the opportunities which the close partnership with the EU offers. “Kosovo is showing consistency and patience while heading in the right direction. Pristina will gain from using the European community as a platform for negotiations and strengthening partnerships,” the Head of State further said.
