We are working very hard on the investigation into the Bourgas bombing and are grateful to the entire democratic world for their support, President Rosen Plevneliev said in an interview with BBC World. “We are working together as partners and it is thoroughly clear that we will find those responsible, however much time and money it takes,” the President underlined. Regarding the alleged involvement of Hezbollah in organising the terrorist act in Bourgas, the President emphasised that the investigation was working only with evidence and facts. “Experts should be allowed to do their jobs, and then politicians will have the final say,” he said.
President Plevneliev congratulated the Olympic hosts on the excellent organisation of the event. The Bulgarians are well prepared and I am here in London to support them to achieve even more, he said. Bulgaria has a tradition of being a sporting nation and in the past 20 years have increased the number of the country’s Olympic medals, the President said. He praised the success of the Bulgarian volleyball players, who after beating Germany had qualified for the semifinals. Bulgaria currently is building sports halls, and has begun restoring sports facilities in Bulgarian schools and in smaller settlements. The most important thing is to create the conditions for creating more young talent, President Plevneliev told BBC World.
